For this assignment, we were required to design a space diagram describing our treatment programme. My programme is called the "Blue Spring" treatment programme. It involves the client having consultation first to find out how serious their back problem is, followed by dividing them to two different stages depending on how major or minor the problem is. A major back problem will have a treatment lasting 4 hours, while a minor problem will have a 3 hour long treatment. Back packers are my target market, therefore, lodging is provided for them should they choose the full treatment.
Both the major and minor problems involve the client sweating it out in the sauna for 30 mins before the physical treatment. According to my research, saunas help relax the muscles and lower the body's blood pressure level. The second phase is the reiki treatment; major problems require the full body treatment, while minor problems will have the treatment focused on just the back and legs. The back and legs are the most crucial parts of the human body as they are linked by the nerves and help the whole body to move normally.
After the treatment, clients get at least an hour long massage to help sooth and relax the muscles.
Lastly, clients may relax and relieve stress in the hot spring. According to my research, in the japanese culture, soaking in hot springs can increase blood flow, metabolism, and circulation. On top of that, the body gets to absorb the essential minerals in the hot spring and relax the body's muscles. The clients can soak in the hot spring until their treatment time is used up. Those that are lodging can soak in the hot spring for as long as they want, although the advised duration should be no more than 2 hours, as this can cause dizziness due to the high temperatures and humidity level.
